Brother Paul Toomer Muhammad is the local representative of the Nation of Islam’s National Protocol Department. He serves as the Student Protocol Director for Muhammad Mosque #7C for over 10 years in Brooklyn, New York. Brother Paul has served as an F.O.I. (Fruit of Islam) Soldier and a Lieutenant. 

Born in Savannah, Georgia, as a young boy, Brother Paul lost both parents-2 weeks apart.  He was raised by his aunt and uncle; and lived in Philadelphia, Connecticut, and Brooklyn where he has settled, and is still a resident of the East New York Community for 47 years.  He is married to a lovely M.G.T (Muslim Girls Training), Sister Sharyn, and together they have 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. 

Brother Paul is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Hunter College. In college, he majored in Economics with a minor in Communication.  Before retiring, he worked for over 20 years in the financial district’s printing industry as a Financial Print Broker. 

In 1995, Brother Paul attended the Million Man March in Washington, DC.  There he was introduced to the teachings of The Honorable Elijah Muhammad as taught by Minister Louis Farrakhan.  He was so impressed by the teachings, the following year he joined the Nation of Islam, and ever since that life changing decision, Brother Paul has been extremely active and committed to the Mission of the NOI and Minister Farrakhan.

Some of Brother Paul’s accomplishments and involvements include:

  • His most recent accomplishment, Brother Paul collaborated with the Brooklyn Local Organizing Committee Community Partners. Starting March 2020, and because of the pandemic, as a member of Mosque 7C, Brother Paul worked nonstop to distribute food to the community of Brownsville and East New York. He worked with houses of worship and community activists to deliver and distribute 3 million pounds of food and meals in East New York and Brownsville. Brother Paul and his community partners targeted senior housing, feeding the senior citizen population. He also pursued the charge of feeding the first responders and essential workers of the East New York Gotham Health Center 4 times a week for 16 months during the pandemic. Brother Paul and the community partners also supported church pantries by distributing food to give out to people in the community.

  • Organized The Making Our Communities a Decent and Safe Place to Live Tour with Student Minister Henry Muhammad of Mosque7C
  • Serves as a Community Liaison between the Community and The Mosque
