Dr. Navas received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in Biology at the State University of New York, Stony Brook, NY. He received his M.D. at Brown University College of Medicine, Providence, Rhode Island and completed his residency in psychiatry at Albert College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal Hospital Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Navas has been the Chief of Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Service/NYC H+H/Queens Hospital since 2023.

Dr. Shipu earned his medical degree from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in Bangladesh, followed by residency training in psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York. He later completed a fellowship with the Public Psychiatry Leadership Program at NYU Grossman School of Medicine/NYC Health and Hospitals. Before joining QHC, Dr. Shipu served as the Medical Director of the Mental Health Clinic and as Assistant Program Director of Psychiatry Residency Training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. His dedication to academic excellence and compassionate care was instrumental in the establishment of an ACGME accredited psychiatry training program at Queens Hospital Center in New York. Dr. Shipu is passionate about the transformative role of education in psychiatric practice. His commitment to teaching has been acknowledged by residents, earning him the ‘Teacher of the Year’ award multiple times.
